About the job

The Pre-Sales Support team works to enable scientists and engineers in many industries to leverage the value of data to improve products and processes and even discover new ones using the scientific method. As an intern on this team you might:

• Gain experience of demonstrating JMP software to users and non-users to inspire them to adopt data analytics solutions for better science and engineering. Meet with our customers in semiconductor, life sciences, chemicals and consumer products industries to find out about the value of data exploration, statistical design of experiments, and modelling and machine learning.
• Work with our Global Technical Enablement Team and the worldwide Systems Engineering team to understand the most effective ways to spread the use and impact of JMP software. Then compile a library of articles and videos as a resource for the development of our newer technical sales staff.
• Explore the use of short and impactful recorded video presentations to communicate the value of our products and as resources to enable our users to quickly start solving their industrial problems with JMP.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, critical thinking skills, and team player.

• Passionate about technology.
• You’re an undergraduate college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2025.  
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree studying: Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Biology, Statistics, Data Science, or other related technical field from an accredited university.
• Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.  
• Be comfortable with a certain degree of ambiguity. A successful intern can create specific actions and paths from ambiguous goals and requirements.   
• You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.

 Timeline

• Applications open: October 2024  (additional internship positions will be posted through March 2025)
• Interviews begin: October 2024 on a rolling basis.
• Internship: May 20 – August 8, 2025. If your university is on a quarter system, we can be flexible on start date.

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS/JMP internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
