JMP is seeking an experienced Account Executive for a sales territory in the California Bay Area.  The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly motivated sales professional with a high EQ and intellectual curiosity. Our customers are scientists and engineers, so you must be comfortable in technical conversations. For the right candidate, this is genuinely a fantastic sales role, as part of a dedicated 3-person team in an extremely well-resourced sales and marketing organization. JMP produces interactive software for desktop statistical discovery by scientists and engineers. Our incredible customers use JMP every day for world-changing discovery.

 

You will:

  • Spread the use and impact of JMP products within existing and target accounts
  • Utilize strategic selling techniques with a Systems Engineer and an Inside Sales Representative to develop the strategy and specific plans for territory, prospects and targeted accounts
  • Prepare custom presentations based on your opportunity analyses
  • Develop and execute customer retention and post-sale strategies to ensure account satisfaction and growth, partnering with our many internal resource groups
  • Customize, present, and evaluate broader sales seminars and outreach
  • Work effectively as part of a team for complex sales involving multiple skill sets
  • Assist with training of staff
  • Contribute to the fantastic (and famous) culture and work atmosphere of JMP and SAS.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of successful experience in software sales, including experience demonstrating technical solutions
  • Experience in account development and relationship development inside complex organizations
  • Experience developing and growing a new sales territory with a proven track record of success
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team comprised of a Systems Engineer and Inside Sales Representative
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and DIY research culture

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of JMP products and services
  • Know industry or market segments or have in-depth expertise in at least one industry or business area
  • Be an effective project leader, meeting your timeline and goals
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, MIS, or other relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of statistics and/or engineering
  • Be curious and a problem-solver
  • Relate technical concepts to our applications and our user’s needs

The base salary range for this position is $143,000USD - $186,000 USD per year and is a good faith estimate only. The range does not include any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Actual pay will vary depending on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay is just one component of SAS’s total compensation package for employees. Employees may also be eligible for commission or discretionary bonus (based on company and individual performance) as determined by the role. In addition, SAS provides a competitive benefits package to meet different employee needs and lifestyles; including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
