About the job

The Decision Support & Data Analytics team at JMP is hiring!  As a Sr. Associate IT Software Developer you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:

  • Develops, designs, tests, promotes and maintains lifecycle of automation, data integrations, and APIs. Actively solicits the involvement of other team members to ensure integrity and consistency across the ecosystem.
  • Uses Software Development Lifecycle phases in order to deliver and maintain solutions of high quality, incorporating current best practices and methodologies. For example: continuous integration and deployment, agile/iterative development methodologies, test driven development, and the creation of documentation.
  • Adheres to standards and methodologies in project delivery, security, data privacy, accessibility, architecture, development, and automation.
  • Seeks continuous improvement through trends, architectures, and implementation techniques as they relate to the design and delivery of integrations, data processing, and analytics.
  • Participates in business, technical and design discussions with team members and partners. Meets product delivery expectations of schedule, scope, and quality.  Effectively identifies, manages, mitigates, and escalates risk to appropriate levels of management. 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Takes a proactive, consultative approach to analytics. Asks the right questions of the data and makes proactive recommendations aligned to overall business strategy.
  • Performs data analysis from multiple data sources and builds reports as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good knowledge of automation, data integration, database, and/or user-interface design principles
  • Solid understanding of fundamental data concepts (table joins, data deduplication, Boolean logic, if/then logic)
  • Ability to communicate with people of various technical backgrounds, think analytically, write and edit technical material, and the ability to write and present clearly on technical matters in a business context
  • Ability to resolve problems with varying management assistance, escalating when appropriate
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate into technical solutions.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Two years of programming experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
